Secret Service — White House visitor/entry records for Andrew Kolvet: nothing released, told they belong to the White House (2026-USSSFOIA-01640)
What we asked for: Any entry, exit, visitor, or access records for Andrew Kolvet at the White House complex and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next door, on the day DOJ publicly released the Epstein files and the day before. We said we were not asking for general emails.
What we got: No records. The Secret Service said that records of schedules, visitors, or similar information about the Office of the President "are not Secret Service agency records subject to the FOIA." It said they fall under the Presidential Records Act instead and "remain under the exclusive legal custody and control of the White House" — which is not covered by FOIA. The letter did not say whether any such records exist.
Note: the request as filed did not state the calendar date; the Secret Service's letter quotes it with a leftover drafting note ("please insert the specific calendar date before filing"). The letter gives 90 days to appeal.
Fee waiver / faster processing: The July 28 letter does not address our fee-waiver or fast-processing requests.
