What we asked for: Any public-affairs guidance, social-media activity log, or messaging directive about Erika Kirk that was issued by or inside the Department of Defense from September 1, 2025 onward. The request left out ordinary email.
What we got: No records. The Pentagon's public-affairs office (the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs) searched its electronic records and files and found nothing that matched. The letter says the search "could reasonably be expected to produce the requested records if they existed," and invites any event or file details that could support a further search.
Next steps: An appeal can be filed within 90 days of the letter. The PDF includes the request as filed.
