Pentagon — public-affairs guidance about Erika Kirk: delay notice (26-F-2918)
What we asked for: Any public-affairs guidance, social-media activity log, or messaging directive about Erika Kirk that was issued by or inside the Department of Defense from September 1, 2025 onward. The request left out ordinary email.
What we got: A delay notice, with no records and no decision on whether records exist. The letter confirms receipt, gives the case number, and names an action officer. It says the office cannot meet the 20-working-day legal deadline because of "unusual circumstances." The office does not hold the records itself and has to collect them from other offices. The request was placed in its complex queue, behind about 3,706 open requests. The final response on September 21, 2026 found no records.
Fee waiver / faster processing: This August 11 letter denied faster (expedited) processing, saying the request did not show how the information would lose its value if not handled quickly, and put off the fee-waiver decision until the search is done.
